Personality

Bartholomew is a sweet natured Natt who cares for everyone around him before he cares for himself. He is sensitive to their emotions, particularly negative ones, and starts to shut down when things get angry or tense. Barthy is a one who can not stomach violence, one who is there to heal rather than hurt. He helps others without asking for anything in return, his kindness coming from a sincere place in his heart. Bartholomew will always help others in need, even if it means risking himself.

History

Bartholomew is the former crown prince of the Kingdom of Somnum. Born to Chasm Syndrome Mendacium and Fatima Rusalka Mendacium, he learned early on that life is not always sunshine and rainbows. Neglected by his father, Barthy and his sister Prism grew close, having only each other to rely on. When he became older and others began vying for the throne, Bartholomew became the target of a cruel and unrelenting man by the name of Hawker. After some time of suffering silently, Bartholomew meets William.

William is a man unlike any other that Bartholomew has met so far. The knight swears to protect him and keep him safe, proving himself through both action and vow. Unbeknownst to Bartholomew and William, Prism mistakes their bond as her brother replacing her, and she becomes the next target of Hawker...

One day when returning from gathering herbs, Bartholomew and William find the kingdom in a state of chaos. William leaves to investigate, leaving Bartholomew behind. When he does not return, Barthy leaves and runs into the "twins" known as Ravyn and Krow. During this time Barthy discovers his sister's instability, and becomes afraid of her. Ravyn and Krow keep him safe until William makes a return.

William keeps Bartholomew safe as he begins to build a new life. Along the way he meets different friends, opening up and becoming less anxious than he had been after first leaving the kingdom. To Bartholomew's surprise, (and initial horror) he has a knack for finding Runes of Creation. His will to provide life is strong, resulting in not one, not two, but the eventual creation of five children that now share a home with William and himself.

After several tense encounters with his sister, Bartholomew decides to try and trust her. He can see that she is trying to change herself, though struggling, and wants to help where he can.

He has also set up a family pack, Hīringu, and continues to live in Skalaness where he aids others as a healer.

Relationships

Chasm Syndrome Mendacium #2540

Father

Chasm had always been distant to Bartholomew, making the boy feel neglected as a child. He didn't know that it was because he reminded his father of his late mother. Seen as intimidating and foreboding, their last interaction had Barthy questioning if he should try to rekindle ties with his old man.

Prism Hellion Mendacium #3727

Sister

Bartholomew is still somewhat afraid of his sister. He has not forgotten how dangerous she has become, but he wants to give her a chance to be in his life again. As she shows genuine signs of changing who she has become, he hangs around her more and more.

Fatima Rusalka Mendacium II #7139

Daughter

One of Bartholomew's bolder children, Fatima is a firecracker compared to her namesake. She is a good-natured kid with a love for pretty much everyone and anything. She is protective with strong familial ties and she reminds Barthy of how Prism was when they were kids.

Felicity Gabriella Mendacium #6962

Daughter

One of Bartholomew's bolder children, Felicity is a brave little girl with a good heart. It makes him happy to see her so close to her sister Fatima. He encourages their bond, knowing that together they can go far.

Tranquility Rose Mendacium #6965

Daughter

Bartholomew's quiet daughter, Tranquility tends to blend into the background when not following her sisters around. He encourages her to push boundaries and interact with more than just her sisters, wanting her to be able to grow and become self reliant.

Hjartvar Forest Mendacium #7262

Son

One of Bartholomew's anxious children, Hjartvar wants to be just like his dad. He is amazed that his son wants to become a healer at all, and is happy to encourage it. Able to talk for hours about herbs, Barthy just hopes he won't bore his boy.

Halvorlir River Mendacium #7290

Son

One of Bartholomew's anxious children, Blackberry is a bit quiet and reserved. He has a passion for reading and knowledge and loves stuffed animals, both passions something that Bartholomew is happy to encourage and provide for.

Interactions

TT #2737

Friend

An unlikely friendship, TT and Bartholomew happened to keep running into each other when alphas needed a paw. They got used to working with each other, and though TT is still intimidating Barthy feels she doesn't mind his presence. He finds her pretty cool, almost like a big sister.

Prissy #3426

Known Felvarg

Kei's soulmate and someone that Bartholomew respects. He does not know Prissy well but would be happy to help her if she ever needed a paw.

Farrow #6701

Friend

Farrow is a good felvarg in Bartholomew's eyes. Being close to Kei made it easy for Barthy to like him.

Kei #2708

Friend

Kei is one of Bartholomew's closest friends and an amazing role model in his eyes. He considers her family.

Dreamer #7187

Friend

Kei's bright daughter and a sweet felvarg. Bartholomew adores Dreamer and her energy, finding it hard to be sad or anxious when she is around. He takes on big brother energy around her, pretty much adopting her as his honorary little sister.

Aloknir #5223

Friend

A good felvarg and nice traveling buddy! Barthy enjoys going on adventures with the savage-coated fel.
