Long before the Velkyn Noctis had a name, the twilight had only one watcher, a lone guardian.
When the sun dipped below the horizon and the forest slipped into slumber, this Felvarg walked the quiet hours alone. Their coat mirrored the night sky dusted with starlight. Their presence seemed tied to the twilight between lands as if they carried a piece of the heavens
Night after night they patrolled forest and mountains alike, observing the fragile balance between sun down and sun up. When the world was most vulnerable.
For a time, they walked alone.
Until Velarys noticed.
Velarys had always been intune with the song of the lands - the way the winds shifted, the silence of prey as if the forest held its breath when something was wrong. When the Curly Titan first saw the lone Felvarg patrolling the twilight hours, she understood the purpose immediately.
Velarys became the first to join the twilight vigil.
Others would follow in time.
Some out of curiosity.
Some out of loyalty.
Some because they too felt the quiet pull of the night.
From that growing vigil, the pack would take its name…
Velkyn Noctis - Guardians of the Night.
Before one may truly be recognized as apart of the Velkyn Noctis one must prove themselves beneath the silent watch of the night.
The night the order was born, Nox called to those who have began to follow to gather beneath the open night sky. The stars seemed to burn brighter than normal and the moon seemed to peer down with its blessing.
There, the High Sentinel spoke the oath for the first time:
When darkness falls,
In silence we watch.
In shadow we guard.
Until dawn returns.
Before one spoke the oath they must prove they can uphold it.
Each Velkyn must complete The First Vigil.
…
As dusk settles across the lands of Ulfrheim each member takes up a spot in the Velkyn territory. From that moment until the first light of dawn they must keep watch.
They may not abandon their post.
As night deepens the song of the forest quiets… but something disturbs the stillness.
A creature wanders into the territory.
At first glance it appears ordinary but something is wrong…
Its movements unnatural.
Its eyes burned with a strangeness.
The scent of something other worldly cling to it.
It had been touched by something beyond the Veil.

How does your character respond?
A guardian must know when to fight, when to watch and when to act with forgiveness and compassion.
Every Velkyn’s decision reveals the kind of protector they may become.
