History

Seeking a weapon they could use against Odalys and the Váttarmenn Váða, Goldblood researchers attempted to create a being that could rival the power of the Vada's Alpha.

Through dark magics and blood rituals, Kaida was created. However, viewing her with their original intent in mind, the Researchers saw her as a failure. Though despite this, she was not discarded. They named her Kaida, meaning "Little Dragon" a subtle mockery of the draconic blood they had used to create her that now runs in her veins. She may not have fulfilled the role initially planned for her, but she could still be useful.

Whether from the blood itself, or from the dark magics used in her creation, Kaida was gifted with enhanced speed, reflexes, and strength, along with swift healing. Rarely did any wound inflicted on her leave a scar no matter how deep it cut. Along with these things, she also inherited the ability to control blood and bend it to her will. This power over blood came with a side effect though, as if she was exposed to a specific "trigger" she would be overtaken by bloodlust and go on a frenzied rampage, killing any fel in her path.

With these abilities, the Goldbloods saw her as a tool to refine, her bloodlust being a weapon they could sharpen into perfection. To them, her greatest flaw was that she could only use her blood control on her own blood.

Kaida spent her younger years within the confines of a remote Goldblood Research facility. Her days were a cycle of pain, anger, helplessness and worst of all... loneliness. She was held in solitary confinement, unless she was needed for testing. There were multiple occasions where they forced her to fight in a small arena. A few times she was left to interact with those fels prior to being forced into killing each of them. There was no point in aligning herself with any of them... after all each fight ended the same way. The researchers would trigger her bloodlust, she'd black out, then come to only to find herself standing alone amidst a bloodbath.

She hated her creators. Every day they reminded her that she was not a felvarg. She was just an object they created, a weapon they were forging for their own purpose. They owned her, she only existed because of them. They made her feel like nothing, like her life had no meaning. She knew that is what they wanted, and yet at times... she couldn't help but believe them. She hated what they made her do. She hated that sometimes... killing those fels in the arena was the only thing that made her feel alive.

After years of yearning for escape, the opportunity presented itself. They triggered her bloodlust once again, though this time, her rampage didn't end within the arena. She doesn't remember how she'd done it. She rarely remembers anything but a few flashes when she blacks out, but somehow she'd battled her way through the arena gates, and into the research lab. The bodies of prisoners and Goldbloods alike lay in her path.

Then she ran. She ran blindly out of the place she'd been held captive for so long. She ran, and they followed. Days seemed to fly by in a rush of blood and pain. Each time they found her she fought. Each time they fought she killed them. Each time she killed them, she grew weaker. Wounds were being cut into her skin faster than her enhanced healing could stitch them up. Her energy faded swiftly.

Lost, wounded, and alone, Kaida eventually collapsed from exhaustion. However, this was not the end for her. A dark-furred wandering stranger took pity on her and nursed her back to health. At first, she was wary of him. However, she quickly grew attached to him. He was the first fel to show her kindness and the first friend she had ever known. Though, had she realized what price this kind soul would have to pay for her friendship she would not have been so quick to attach herself to him.

Kaida never told Ramael who exactly she was running from even after he nursed her back to health. This was a decision she regretted. However, at the time, she feared losing him. After learning to trust the large, axe-welding titan, Kaida quickly grew attached to him. He was the first friend she'd ever known, and after meeting him, that feeling of loneliness that had hung over her for her entire life finally vanished.

The Goldbloods never stopped looking for her, and one day they found her. This incident left Kaida wounded, and Ramael on the brink of death. In the brief moments after the fight, Kaida unlocked a new power within herself... accidentally forming a bond with Ramael. This was not just a mere soulmate bond, but rather a bond of blood and soul alike, a bond strong enough to pull the titan out of death's grip and back to the realm of the living.

This bond left both of them changed. Kaida has never forgiven herself for what she'd done to Ramael. She has vowed never to use that power on another.
